Information on Global WarmingGlobal warming is the average increase in the Earth's atmosphere, which causes climate change. Because it is getting warmer, there is a change in patterns of rainfall, increase in sea level, and a lot more effects in humans, plants as well as animals. Other significant effects include agricultural yields that changes, shrinking or the decline in glaciers in the polar ice caps, extinction of species and increase in health problems. When scientists discuss about climate changes, they usually refer to global warming and how human activities are affecting it. However, there are several uncertainties about global warming such as the exact degree of the extent of climate change in the future and how these changes vary from around the world. Various political and public debates are being undertake in order to figure out as to what steps have to be taken to minimize or reverse future global warming or how to adapt to its consequences. Most national governments have already ratified the Kyoto Protocol in which the goal is to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. Everywhere in the world, we see the effects of global warming. One of which is that the ocean is warming and that there is an alarmingly rise in sea level and a lot of occurences of coastal flooding. Glaciaers are also melting and the arctic and Antarctic are warming up as well. With the continued warming, there is likely that there is more spread of diseases, and abnormal changes in season such as early arrival of the spring season. Because animals tend to relocate to more comfortable places, animals population is changing and we will be seing more plant range shifts as well. It is also observed that there are more coral reef bleaching and heavy downpours, floods, and heavy snowfall. In some other parts of the globe, some places are experiencing drought and fire. The | |
