GOP, Dems could come to global warming agreement, Ohio senator says - Dayton Daily News- global warming news

Sherrod Brown on Tuesday, March 9, said there was "a chance" that Senate Republicans and Democrats could agree on a sweeping bill that would curb global warming through the development of cleaner energy. The 90-minute session, which included seven Senate Democrats, six Senate Republicans and one independent, represents a major effort by Obama and his senior advisers to forge a bipartisan agreement on how to combat climate change. But Brown added that Obama "doesn’t just want nuclear power and off-shore drilling," but instead "wants it more transformational" to move private investors toward energy sources that do not emit much greenhouse gas. Can he and Taft fight it out in a cage match to see which is the worst Ohio politician in the past 25 years? To think that many people thought that this was going to be a real problem amazed me.
